Historian Stacy A. Cordery is the author of three books on the
Roosevelts and a frequent lecturer on the subject. Her interest
in the Roosevelt family dates to her undergraduate years and was
solidified in a graduate course on Theodore Roosevelt at the University
of Texas given by distinguished political historian Lewis L. Gould.
After earning her Ph.D. in United States History in 1992, Cordery
taught for two years at East Carolina University before accepting
a position at Monmouth College,
a small liberal arts school in west central Illinois. Now a full
professor, she regularly offers classes on modern U.S. history,
womens history, and interdisciplinary studies. Cordery has
volunteered in several capacities for H-Net and is the web bibliographer
for the National First Ladies Library. She is married to British
historian Simon Cordery and they have one son.
